The tourist card is now issued electronically. Travel health insurance is a legal entry requirement and is checked. US citizens must additionally travel under one of the twelve authorised categories.

How to get it: Buy the e-visa online or through your airline, and file the D’Viajeros traveller information form within 48 hours of arrival.
D'Viajeros — required
When: In the 72 hours before you arrive.
Have ready: passport, flight number, the full address of your first night.
Produces a QR code. Save it offline — Cuban mobile data is not something to rely on at the airport.
