2 guides, each rated 1 to 5 with the reason — and two lists per place, where you are comfortable and where to pay attention. Nowhere is called dangerous; the specific thing is what helps.
Comfortable, and the centre is busy until very late. What catches visitors out is the hours: the river clubs fill after midnight and empty at five, and the taxis waiting outside them are the ones to avoid. Demonstrations in the centre have been frequent since late 2024; walk round them. A Red Star–Partizan derby is the one night to keep away from the stadiums.
Calm and easy, more so than Belgrade. The canopy collapse at the railway station in November 2024 killed sixteen people and started the protests that have run across Serbia since; gatherings in the centre are common and have been peaceful, but walk round them. On the river, the Danube current at the Štrand is stronger than it looks.

Protest gatherings in the centre, frequent since the 2024 station collapse — peaceful so far, but walk round them
the fortress ramparts after dark — unlit drops with no railings on parts of the walls
