Cards work everywhere in the city. The huts on the Nordkette and in the side valleys are cash, which surprises people at two thousand metres.
Wherever you are: if the machine offers to charge you in your home currency, decline. That is dynamic currency conversion and the rate is set by the ATM's operator, not your bank.

Food tip
Very goodTyrolean and heavy: käsespätzle, gröstl, speck and dumplings. The Adlers rooftop has the view; the Stiftskeller has the food that Tyroleans actually eat.

A student city with an après-ski problem in winter and a beer-garden summer, all within ten minutes on foot.
