Safety all of South Korea
Very safeVery safe. Hallasan is a serious walk with fixed turnaround times enforced by rangers, the coastal rocks are slippery and the sea around them has currents, and the island gets typhoons in late summer that close the airport for days.

Food tip
Very goodBlack pork barbecue, abalone porridge, and hairtail fish grilled whole. The haenyeo sell what they dive straight from the rocks at Seongsan — sea urchin and conch, eaten there.
Nightlife
A resort island evening: seafood, soju, and a handful of bars rather than a scene.

Mobile data — Fast. Enough to work from a cafe or a beach on a hotspot all day. Mobile runs at 2.3× the global median of 109 Mbps.
Ookla publishes no separate figure for Jeju, so these are medians for all of South Korea. Cities usually beat the national number and remote islands and national parks fall well below it — treat this as the country's shape, not as a measurement of the street you will be staying on.
