Getting treated
EU/EEA and Swiss visitors are treated on the same terms as residents with an EHIC or GHIC card; UK visitors use a GHIC. Everyone else pays, and travel insurance is worth having for the repatriation cover rather than the treatment. Good in Vilnius and Kaunas, with private clinics that speak English; adequate elsewhere; the state system works with an EHIC.
Ticks in the forest and the long grass from spring to autumn, and the encephalitis is common enough here that the vaccine is worth it for the spit and the lakes. Ice on the cobbles in winter. The sea side of the spit has rips.

GoodSmoked fish — bream and eel — from the smokehouses in Nida and Juodkrantė, eaten on the lagoon shore with beer. The restaurants in Nida for the rest. Everything is seasonal.
