Thirty days visa-free since 2023 for about fifty passports. The Pamir Highway is in GBAO, which needs its own permit whatever your visa — bought online with the e-visa, or at the OVIR office in Dushanbe or Khorog if you came in visa-free, for a few dollars and a day.

Applied for at evisa.tj and issued in a few days; tick the GBAO box if the Pamirs are the plan.
How to get it: Apply at evisa.tj — the government portal — and add the GBAO permit to the application if you are going east of Dushanbe. Lookalike sites charge double.
