Very expensiveEuro. Cards work in the restaurants and the shops, but the village bar, the beach kiosk and the parking machine still want coins, and a small trattoria may quietly prefer notes. Change nothing at the airport or the station.

Food tip
GoodExpensive on the harbour and no better for it. The seafood is good — anchovies from Monterosso, trofie with pesto, fried fish — but the same plates cost half as much in Santa Margherita fifteen minutes away, which is where to eat and sleep.
