Food tip
Very goodSicilian and confident: pasta alla Norma with aubergine and ricotta salata; swordfish; arancini; granita with a brioche for breakfast, which is the correct thing to do here in summer. Nero d’Avola and the Etna reds from the volcanic slopes.

A passeggiata town: the Corso fills from seven, the piazza terraces stay busy until midnight, and a few clubs run later down at Giardini Naxos.
